Christmas was great this year. Jeff was home, he actually had nine days off it was really nice. Santa brought some very nice presents for the kids, they were very happy. Kaylee finally learned to ride a bike this summer but, by the time she learned to ride, her bike was a little to small. So Santa bought her a new bike that she could finally ride properly. However, It had snowed so much that the roads were a mess and she still has been unable to ride it. Poor girl! Dalton had no idea what was going on. He just wanted to open presents, until he opened his remote control car. After that he was done and he just wanted to play. He was so fun when we made cookies, he wasn't about to leave them for Santa he wanted to eat them so we let him. Cooper got a star wars tent and we are now hoping he will let us put it away sometime so we can at least vacum the floor in his room.
At the first of the December I decided for family home evening to make the kids their own mangers and a little baby Jesus to go inside, and a bag of straw. Then we discussed how everytime you do something nice for someone secretly they should put a piece of straw in their mangers and make the bed as soft as they could for the baby. We read the story that goes along with it in hopes it would help them understand. I wasn't sure how much the kids understood but, I still felt it was important to do. I actually had to give the kids more straw. Dalton was constantly doing things, even as young as he is, he still got it. I was so proud of my kids. I just hope that maybe the kindness, generousity, and love that they experienced will last all year, and that maybe they will continue doing good things for each other as well as other people.
This year has been a good one for us, we have felt very blessed and feel like the Lord has been looking out for us. Even when problems have come up for Jeff at work, we continually pray and put our faith in the savior, and the problems have slowly worked themselves out. I only hope that the next year will bring more blessings to our family and yours. Thank you so much to all of our family and friends

Laura that is so cute. I would love to know how you made the manger and what story went with it. I really wanted to do that this year but I'm not crafty and couldn't figure a way to do it. You are so good. I missed see you while I was there.
I want details on the manger and story too! I love that idea! Sounds like you guys had a great Christmas! Your kids are so darn cute!
