Photobucket

Cooper's Birthday was great this year the weather was beautiful, so we could play the games outside and the mess could also stay outside. Cooper got the batcave which he had been begging for. He also got the bat mobile and the helicopter, we also gave him the bad guys as well. He keeps telling me it was the best birthday ever. I love when I get it right.

Happy Halloween

Photobucket

Halloween was the best this year, the kids were so excited to dress-up, even if they were a little mad that I was making them wear the costumes from last year but, nobody saw them last year because we were in Disneyland.

Dalton was my first child that didn't fuss about having on a costume. The other two threw a fit the minute I would try and put it on.

I am having a hard time keeping the kids out of the candy, I've tried to just let them have a little a day but, Dalton will get into to it were ever it is, we have even caught him trying to climb up to the top of the fridge. I swear that boy is going to give me a run for my money.

Funny Cooper!

Cooper has been attending pre-school and has really been enjoying it. He was able to go on his first field trip. Mrs. Lee took the kids to Albertson's were they met with the pharmacist and the produce person. Well I guess when everyone was loaded in the car and ready to go they started on the freeway, and from the back of the van you could hear Cooper,"alright speed now that's what I'm talking about!" Well when they meet with the produce lady she was taking to kids about choosing healthy snacks and Cooper says, I eat healthy all the time I love bacon!" I love this kid, I have know idea where he comes up with this stuff but, I blame his Dad!

To many cooks in the kitchen!

I could tell it was going to be one of those days as soon as I got up. We were late for church, I wasn't completely prepared to teach my Sunday school class, the boys were as wild as ever, and Kaylee was throwing attitude. After church I realized that I never made my dessert to take to the mountain for Sunday dinner. So I tried to get my dessert made so we could leave for the cabin and my boys were trying to help, it was probably more help then I really needed. I went to put the milk back in the fridge and Dalton grabbed the bowl and milk and pudding went everywhere. I was so mad and yet I couldn't say a word I just grabbed my camera and took a picture and quickly cleaned Dalton and the mess. I honestly have no idea how I held back from freaking out but, I was glad I didn't, that sweet baby was already upset enough.

My current reading!

Photobucket

My Sister Jill and the girls in my Sunday School class that I teach have been trying to get me to read the Twilight series. Well, when I went to visit Jill she sent her books home with me. Labor day weekend rolled a round and Jeff had to spend the whole weekend at the fair and all the other events in Parawon. I also wasn't feeling well. So I grabbed Twilight and curled up on the couch so I could still keep and eye on the kids. Well I finished the first book Saturday afternoon and immediately had to start on the next book. I could not put them down if I had a free moment it was spend reading. I finally finished the series on Saturday and it was probably a good thing because I don't think my house could take any more of the abuse the kids were dishing out. But, I have to admit that I didn't feel bad I really enjoyed myself. Since having kids I don't get to read for my own enjoyment anymore, which is sad because I LOVE to read. I am hoping that I will see that I need to do more things like this for myself. (I hope!)

Back to School

My kids were so excited for the first day of school, especially Cooper because he started Pre-School this year. I am excited for him to be a big boy and go to school but, it is strangly quiet with just Dalton and myself. The first day that both the kids were gone Dalton got up late and the kids were already at school. He looked all over for them and then just started to cry, it broke my heart.

Kaylee is in the second grade this year and has Mrs. Jenson. We are so excited to have her as Kaylee's teacher. She is in our ward and so we already knew how great she is. Kaylee has a already come home excited about what they are doing in science. I hope this is a good sign of things to come.

Cooper is attending the Hippity Hop Pre-School. His teacher is Mrs. Lee. She was a teacher at the Elementary School and decided to open her own school. She is great, her husband works with Jeff so we already knew how good the school was. Cooper seems to be enjoying himself.

I am just hoping with the kids gone to school that Dalton and I can have some quality time together and maybe just maybe I can get back to having sometime for myself. I really would like to get back to painting and scrapbooking, I guess we will see.

Olympics

So they say the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem, so here goes I am a huge Olympics junky. Maybe its the swimmer in me and all the time I spent on the swim team that has made my competitive nature take over. My favorite athletes of all time are unarguably Summer Sanders and Janet Evans. I lived for watching them just like I do now when it comes to Micheal Phelps and Natalie Coughlin.

Summer or Winter it doesn't matter I am glued to the t.v., it doesn't matter even what the event is, I have to watch it. I have struggled to get up in the mornings because I have stayed up to late watching gymnastics and volleyball. My kids give me a hard time because we try not to watch to much t.v. but, I made an exception for the Olympics. I know I probably need HELP!

Happy Birthday Kaylee

Saturday we had Kaylee's 7th birthday party and we had a great time. We had some fun games and had a blow-up water slide, that the kids really enjoyed. Some of the parents had trouble getting their kids to leave when it was time to go. Kaylee received some fun presents but, more importantly she just had a good time with her friends and she had a great birthday.

I know I go crazy putting together the kids birthday party's but, I enjoy making their birthdays special and seeing the enjoyment they get out of having a special day. They only down side for me is their birthdays are a reminder that my children are getting older and growing up. Its painful for me to see Kaylee growing up but at the same time I am so proud of her and the beautiful girl she is becoming, she makes it easy to be a Mom because of what a good kid she is. I love you Kaylee and I am grateful for the opportunity the Lord had given me to be your Mom.

Summer Lessons

Every Summer it seem like such a chore to get my children signed-up for swimming, dancing, and whatever else they want to do. But, I made it through and the only thing I had a hang up with was finding a swimsuit for myself so I could do Mommy and me with Dalton. I swear I hate swim suit shopping. It never bothered me until having children I guess I just didn't want to face the fact my body has changed but, oh well like I said I survived.

Kaylee loved Summer dancing especially marching in the parade. But, swimming lessons was another story. Jeff and I have recently signed her up for private lessons I hope it will help her to get over her fear of water. Cooper has become our little fish we practical had to drag him from the pool. He still gets up every morning and asks me if he has swimming today. He really enjoyed swimming but, he also had a great teacher who really made class fun. Dalton started out having fun but, the water was really cold and after a half hour he would turn blue (literally). I am just glad that the kids enjoyed themselves and honestly had fun and didn't act like they were forced to do it.

It's my bed!

Okay so I have created a couple of monsters that our taking over our bed! I have no one to blame but, myself. While Jeff was gone to
k-9 school Cooper would beg until I gave in and let him sleep with me. Well in the process Dalton started getting up in the middle of the night hungry. So I started giving him a little bottle and putting him in bed with me, which was fine until Jeff would come home on the weekends. Since Jeff has been home Cooper has resumed sleeping in his own bed except for when Jeff works graveyards then I wake up to him in our bed. Dalton on the other had it still getting up around 3:00 in the morning and drinking a full bottle and I am still putting him in our bed. I know this is bad and I shouldn't be doing it but, I'll be honest there are some mornings I wake up and don't remember getting him out of his crib let alone fixing him a bottle. I know this is going to be a hard habit to break and I just wish I hadn't started it. I think Jeff and his back have had about enough, I just keep reminding him is great birth control. He doesn't think I'm very funny.

Happy 4th of July

We have had a fun 4th of July. We did our usual breakfast at Sullivan's, then watched Kaylee march in the parade. Picked her up and played at the park. This year however Jill and Kevin came to spend the weekend. So the kids ran wild with there cousins and we just tried to keep up with them. While the big kids played on the blow-up slides Grandpa Mounteer bought Dalton his very own snow cone, and that sweet boy was in heaven (and a little sticky).

Jill and Kevin had some friends that came with them so Grandpa Mounteer cooked a very, very good dutch oven dinner up at the cabin. It was fun just to visit and catch up with everyone. With Jill and Kevin living in West Jordon we just don't see each other enough or call each other enough. So it was great to have a few days with them and the kids. It would have been nice if Krista and Clay could have been here but, Clay is busy with his new job. I don't think that gas prices help either though.

Of course we also watched the fireworks, that's the best part of the 4th. I am such a dork though I made sure I had sparklers for the kids and of course I forgot to bring them with me. I guess we will just use them on the 24th. I probably would be in trouble with Kaylee to for using them, because she stayed at the cabin to have a sleep over. I get a kick out of Dalton because he could of cared less what was going on . He just wanted to run around, but what else should I expect out of a one year old, that is all they do after all. It was a great weekend just hanging with the family and enjoying the kids.

Family Fun

The kids wanted to do something fun, so Jeff went to the store and came back with supplies to make marshmallow guns. Jeff made a gun for everyone in the family. We spent most of the afternoon chasing each other and avoiding being hit. Dalton mainly just ran around dragging his gun and laughing. Sometimes he would stop to eat a marshmallow or two. I sometimes think Jeff's the one who had the most fun. There has to be something wrong with getting enjoyment out of shooting your kids with marshmallows. Oh, well we all had a good time.

Cooper

My Cooper! I couldn't imagine life without him. Cooper is the sweetest boy and the biggest trouble maker. I get scared every morning when I go to get in the shower because I have no idea what I will find when I get out. There are some days I swear they invented time-outs just for him. I will get after him and then sometimes punish him and he will say he is sorry and then smile out me with that mischievous grin of his (by they way he gets it from his Dad) wrap his arms around my legs and say, "but you still love me Mommy." How do you stay mad at that? Cooper is always making us laugh he found this Batman mask at Wal-Mart and begged until I gave in and bought it. He wore it the whole day he only took it off to eat, brush his teeth, and take a bath. I had to take it off him when he fell asleep. He has rediscovered his cars and has to have Mack, lightning, Chick, and The King in order to watch the movie. According to Cooper they like to watch themselves. Cooper is always saying the funniest stuff too. The other day Jeff was teasing him and he finally had it, and yelled "stop it Dad your putting nuts in my brain." (instead of saying your making me nuts)
I love my Cooper and I am glad the Lord has blessed me with him. He is such a fun kid. Not having any brothers of my own I learned fast that boys are different. Kaylee is calm and always willing to help. Plus she is usually clean. Cooper 75% of the time can't hear me, he is always busy and I swear he is a walking mess. But, he loves to struggle with me still and he is a night owl sometimes he and I have midnight ice cream dates. Cooper is fun and full of life, like I said before my life would not be the same without him. Cooper I love you! Mommy.

Ironhide

We were driving past Maverick when we saw their kick start truck parked there for display. Cooper was so excited when he saw it. He is a huge transformer fan, so in his mind it was Ironhide. I couldn't believe how huge this truck was, and it looked even bigger with Cooper standing next to it. They let Cooper climb inside and check it out. Both him and his Dad said they need a big truck like that. I asked Cooper if that was a cool truck and he said yes but, "Mom I don't think that is the real Ironhide." I love that kid! Cooper will say the funniest stuff. He makes sure life is never dull at our house.

A Day of Bowling

Jeff finally had a day off. I mean a real day off, he wasn't called in or asked to come and help with something. So we decided to get a hamburger and do some bowling. It was a blast! Cooper was so funny he was more interested in pushing buttons on the ball return then he was in bowling. Kaylee was so serious about it she was just determined, she is a funny kid. As for Jeff and I, we were really bad. I think next time we will just stick to playing it on the wii. I guess I shouldn't be so hard on us after all it is all about having a good time and that is what we did. I just enjoy having days were we get to do fun stuff as a family, it seems like Jeff always has something going on but, he is so good about coming up with fun things to do with the kids when he is home. I am so grateful for the fact that he does try to put his family first. I know it is hard sometimes with his job but, he try's so hard and when he is busy with work I try to keep the kids busy and make sure they know that Daddy loves them and he works hard to take care of us. I also make sure they know he is working hard to help other people too. My kids our lucky they have a great Dad! Posted by Picasa

Children's Museum

K-9 School is over!

Yea! Jeff is finally home and no longer making that trip to Salt Lake every Monday morning. I loaded up the kids and drove to Salt Lake for the graduation. We stayed with Jill and Kevin, so the kids got a chance to spend sometime with their cousins. Saturday Jill and Kevin took us to The Gateway to the Children's Museum. It was so much fun, the kids really enjoyed themselves. They even had areas for Dalton to play. Cooper keeps talking about the helicopter. They had an old life-flight helicopter there for kids to play on it even had a radio tower with a intercom system. But Cooper loved hitting the button to make the helicopter sound like it was taking off. We had a fun weekend but, then again I love anything that gives me a break from cooking and cleaning. I can't decided what Jeff is going to miss more; the traffic or the drive every week. I almost forgot to mention that Duke was P-S-P-1 certified which is the best you can get! Jeff is now thinking maybe he wants to get his instructors certificate, thank goodness that will only be a few days here and there!

Big Backyard

The kids live in the backyard now that Summer is finally here. I get a kick out of Dalton he will get on top of the fort turn around then scoot on his belly until he hits the slide then he shoots down the slide. He will then stand up and because he still drools the sand sticks to him and then he looks like he had eaten a sand sandwich. The weather was so hot one day that we hooked up the sprinklers and let the kids run through it. Dalton wasn't sure at first but, quickly began having a good time. The kids were prunes by the time they were done but, at least they had fun.

Disneyland 2007

Disneyland was so much fun this year. The lines were short through the whole park. It was fun being there for Halloween too. I wasn't really thinking when I bought the kids costumes, I found a cute monkey costume for Dalton and Cooper wanted to be Superman so Aunt Jill grabbed him a costume. Mom and I made poodle skirts for Kelsee and Kaylee. She informed me that she loved her grand kids but, her sewing days were over. Mom found cute white t-shirts and had Renae sew a letter K on them for the girls, they looked so cute.

I was worried that Cooper was going to be upset when he found out that we would be gone on his birthday. We had his party a few days early but, he was not happy to leave his new presents though. He also informed us that next year he would like to go to Sea World for his birthday. We tried explaining that we were there on vacation not for his birthday but, you try arguing with a 3 year old.

Kaylee loved the High School Musical show and they even picked her to dance with them, she was even picked to be the helper at Woody's Round-up. I think the Highlight of the trip for her was when we went to have dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. They had a variety of characters come and visit our tables and they would stay for a long time. Sleeping Beauty came to visit, and she taught Kaylee and Kelsee the secret princess hand shake.

Poor Dalton decided to cut four teeth while we were there and he gets a little sick when he cuts teeth, and boy did he get sick. We were standing in line for Nemo and he threw up, Then while we were waiting for everyone to get off Splash Mountain he had a blow out. He just had a ruff time but, he was a good sport. He wasn't fussy or grumpy he just was a good boy.

We got in line to meet the little mermaid and when it was our turn Kaylee ran right over but, Cooper turned flaming red and covered his eyes, even for the picture. Nothing we did could get him to put his hands down. Of course being the tease he is Jeff had to give Cooper a hard time about his girlfriend Ariel.

Hello family and friends! Jeff and I finally have got our Blog up! I still don't have it just the way I want it but that's okay, I can work on it. Things have gotten so crazy around here, I guess I better update you a bit.

Jeff was made a Corpral about two years ago and around the same time he became a K-9 officer. He is currently finishing what I am hoping is the last of his K-9 school. He and Duke have been in Salt Lake for several weeks, they get to come home on the weekends but, for me and the kids two days is just not enought time. We really miss him. To make matters worse for the last two weeks Jeff has been bit. The last one was last Friday, and the dog that bit him really did some damage to his finger. Hopefully he will survive his finally two weeks.

Kaylee only has two weeks left of school. I can't believe she will be done with the first grade. She has really loved school this year. She had a great teacher who has made school fun for her. She does very well in math, spelling and socializing. I think she is going to struggle to say good-bye to Mrs. Riddle, according to Kaylee she is the coolest. Kaylee is also geting ready to do her dance recital. She was pretty excited about it until she found out her Dad wasn't going to be there because of his school. But we have promised to recorded it.

Dalton and Cooper are growing like crazy. Dalton just celebrated his 1st birthday in March. Cooper will turn 4 in October and will be going to pre-school. I can't decide who is more excited him or me? I didn't have brothers growing up so I am learning fast that boys are a whole new breed. They are wild, busy, and the biggest mess makers. I swear they cannot hold still for more than a second, and they don't actually eat they just smear their food on themselves, the floor and the table. They would live outside if Jeff and I would let them but, you know what, I love it and I wouldn't change them for the world.

As for me I'm just trying to survive and keep up. All be honest I'm not sure I will ever get back to scrapbooking or painting again. Maybe when they all go to college. So please forgive me if I am slow about updating this blog.
